How Far Are You Willing to Go?
Hey San Antonio,
There’s a reason that health and fitness related searches are amongst the most popular on Google, Yahoo and Bing. There’s also a reason why the nutritional supplement industry, the diet industry, and the gym/fitness industry are all billion dollar industries.
While there’s a lot of effort searching for the “next big thing” or miracle weight loss pill, the truth is that most people simply don’t want the truth. They don’t want to hear that changing the body requires changes to the lifestyle as a whole, and that people who are willing to put forth the effort seem, to the unknowing, as if they are the member of a special cult. They can’t possibly be “normal” people with a real job that doesn’t allow them to workout 4 hours per day.
Fortunately, everyone I deal with on a daily basis is a “normal person” from the professional and personal standpoint. They have demanding jobs. They have relationships. They are parents. They have responsibilities far beyond waking up and working out for a few hours and then relaxing. Many of them have extreme circumstances, such as taken care of a special needs child, a sick parent or relative, two jobs and a demanding schedule or more.
Internally, there is nothing normal about the people that I deal with. They have made the decision that they want to change their bodies and control an aspect of their life that so few people are ever able to grasp. They face adversity in their journey, but most of the time are able to make the right decision. While I appreciate the faith they put in me and what I want them to do, before they ever get to that point, it had to start with their decision to take a friend’s recommendation to contact me or to google “personal trainer San Antonio”.
Furthermore, understanding the specific nutritional and training program that I devise for you is only a piece of the puzzle: it means nothing if you aren’t willing to follow it by the letter. There’s no deviation, no settling. I do provide some flexibility and allow each client a bit of freedom, but there’s a reason why my clients achieve outstanding success: they are ready to work their asses off and put forth the effort.
The great thing? Somehow, some way, making the right decision becomes second nature and your addiction to becoming the best you can possibly be becomes more and more overwhelming. So many of my clients go through this: they come to me and ask me to help them get to a certain point. To me, it doesn’t seem like much, but to them, they honestly don’t know. They’ve tried in the past without great success. Then, in what seems like a blink of an eye, but has actually been several weeks of intense workouts and the ultimate in self-discipline, they’re beyond where they thought they could be. And then, they see the possibilities. “If I can do this, how far can I go?” What was once “I just don’t want to be fat anymore” becomes “I want abs” or “I want definition in my arms, shoulders, legs and chest”. In some extreme cases? “I want to compete”.
And again, these aren’t freaks. They aren’t “gym rats” and they aren’t the “obsessed”. They’re just like YOU. They simply determine that they won’t be held back.
When you’re really willing to do the things that others will not do, then you’re ready to look like others want to look. The choice is yours.
